FountainBlue's Policies about E-Mail and Resources for Whitelisting E-mail
Since 2006, FountainBlue has been creating and supporting a network of quality clean energy, life science and high tech decision-makers - entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and executives alike. With a community now numbering in the thousands, we take pride in the size and quality of the community and the value of the networking experience at each of the events we produce.
We communicate with our community regularly and take the responsibility very seriously. Although we would like to remain connected regularly with our community, we are equally motivated to respect the privacy and communication wishes of our members. We therefore strictly abide by the e-mail communication policies listed below.
· When we're promoting an event:
o We send e-mails to our communities once a week, typically on Fridays.
o We send an initiation invitation and a final invitation for each of our events.
o We send e-mail invitations weekly to specific groups, targeted to specific events.
o We send our partners information requesting that they promote the events to their network for the partnership rates.
o We immediately remove people from our e-mail list as soon as it is requested.
o We welcome our list members to forward invitations to their network, inviting them also to pay the FountainBlue community rate.
o We encourage YahooGroup members to self-manage their e-mails so that everyone changes their receiving address, the distribution of e-mails (individual, digest or none), or leaves the group themselves if desired.
· When you're registering for an event:
o We will ask you if you would like to share your contact information with other attendees when you register for an event.
o We will blind-copy you confirmation e-mails and follow-up notes to discourage people from doing reply-alls and sending spam to you.
o If you're attending an event, we will send attachments with attendee list and contact information for the events, and request that the attachment not to be forwarded on to others.
o We invite you to inform us if someone is not respectful of your contact information (sending you unrequested e-mails, forwarding contact lists, etc.,) so that we can respond directly to them and support you in your request for privacy.
· When you introduce us to someone:
o We will try to make a connection to people who may be of assistance to them.
§We may copy or blind-copy our contacts with the e-mail, as appropriate.
§We will assist with follow-up, if requested.
o We will let you know if we cannot help them.
o We will encourage them to attend an appropriate event which would help him/her to build good contacts.
· When you request that specific information be forwarded to specific kinds of people:
o We will blind-copy people who might be interested in the information and invited interested people to respond directly to the poster.
o We will not give out names or e-mails of people who might be interested as we feel this would be a breach of their privacy. Please do not request that we do this.
Members of the FountainBlue community have requested instructions for 'whitelisting' FountainBlue e-mails. We have therefore created the Whitelisting resource below, in case it might be helpful to you in ensuring you receive our e-mails, and in case you'd like to adapt it for your own purposes.
Email Whitelist Instructions
Since your ISP probably uses some type of spam filter we ask that you add us to your trusted list of senders, contacts or address book. This is also known as whitelisting. If you do not see an email from Linda Holroyd or FountainBlue in your inbox, due to the overzealous filtering by ISPs our email may have mistakenly been sent to your spam folder. Please look for it there, open it and mark it as "not spam"...,
Click the link to your ISP or email client to Whitelist FountainBlue, from: Linda Holroyd.
